Delapre Abbey Holiday Club

Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust

A summary
Join us in the Coach House for 4 hours of fun, food and finding out about the past and present at beautiful Delapré Abbey. Spending time indoors and outside, we'll explore the walled garden and how we grow and source food for our Orangery Café and Hibiscus Fine Dining. And we'll play games or other physical activities in the inner gardens, finding out how they were used in the past as well as today. Back in the Coach House, we'll enjoy a hot lunch provided by the onsite Orangery Café. This is usually a jacket potato with a range of toppings that include vegan and vegetarian options, and some fruit. We'll also spend time on craft activities related to wellbeing, based on research about Tudor sleep habits and plants grown in our gardens. Over the course of the camp there'll be chances to explore the medieval kitchen and older parts of the Abbey, including our Battle of Northampton exhibition, try dressing up as a nun or knight or having a go at archery in our inner courtyard. Best to come dressed for the weather, with hats and sunscreen if it's warm, or a raincoat if it's not so nice.
