UKRAINE APPEAL

Ukraine Appeal mentors are a collective of experienced artists, educators, and community practitioners who bring together a wide range of creative disciplines, including visual arts, crafts, and hands-on cultural workshops. Each mentor combines practical expertise with a passion for inclusive learning, supporting children and young people of all abilities to explore creativity in a safe and engaging environment. Working collaboratively, our providers design and deliver workshops that are accessible, nurturing, and tailored to individual needs, including HAF and those with additional needs and EHCPs. Through step-by-step guidance, encouragement, and creative freedom, mentors help participants build confidence, develop new skills, and express themselves through art. As part of a wider community of learning providers, our mentors are committed to sharing knowledge, life skills, and cultural experiences that inspire curiosity and personal growth, aligning with the EEQU vision of connecting learners with meaningful, real-world education. About CIO. Ukraine Appeal is a grassroots UK charity, based in Milton Keynes City, supporting Ukrainians affected by war - both those displaced by conflict and those rebuilding their lives in the UK. At its heart is a strong sense of community, with a focus on compassion, cultural preservation, and education. The charity runs the “Sunflower” Ukrainian Supplementary School, offering children a safe space to learn in their native language, celebrate their heritage, and stay connected to Ukrainian identity. Beyond education, Ukraine Appeal organises cultural events, workshops, and awareness campaigns that highlight the devastating impact of the war - particularly on children and families - and build empathy among local communities. The charity also supports refugees through practical help, community-building activities, and opportunities for healing through creativity and connection. Through volunteering, partnerships, and storytelling, Ukraine Appeal brings people together - raising awareness, breaking down barriers, and creating a supportive environment where both new arrivals and host communities can thrive together.
