Create and Build With The Sensory Spot CIC

The Sensory Spot CIC’s Build and Create Session offers children a vibrant, hands‑on space where imagination leads the way. This session brings together a range of building and creative stations designed to spark curiosity, problem‑solving and joyful exploration. Children can dive into open‑ended construction using LEGO, magnetic blocks, and Makedo, giving them the freedom to design, build and experiment at their own pace. These resources encourage teamwork, communication and resilience as children test ideas, adapt their creations and proudly share what they’ve made.

Alongside construction play, the session includes a welcoming craft area where children can explore colour, texture and creativity through a variety of themed activities. Whether they’re designing artwork, making models or experimenting with new materials, the focus is always on expression, confidence and having fun.

Children also take part in healthy snack‑making, giving them the chance to get hands‑on with simple food preparation. This practical element helps them learn about nutrition in an enjoyable, accessible way—chopping, mixing, assembling and tasting foods they’ve helped create. It’s a relaxed opportunity to build independence and try new things while developing real‑life skills.

To keep the energy high and the atmosphere playful, the session includes a selection of games that encourage movement, cooperation and social interaction. These activities help children build friendships, practise turn‑taking and enjoy positive shared experiences in a supportive environment.
