What we'll do
Children are introduced to chef and have access to fruit salad and will make a smoothie in the morning. The Chef will then give them the menu for the day. The children are split into groups to make starters, mains, dessert and salad. Children get a chance to rotate and make different foods everyday. Once the cooking is on the way some groups will go out and get their ingredients from the garden whilst others will go with the Gardner to carry out gardening tasks. Children will have a chance to explore local wildlife and plants whilst learning how to look after their plants and how to plant different fruit and vegetables and cook tasty vegetarian dishes.

Urban Edible Gardens - Cooking Kids
Educating young people to grow green and cook
Turning empty spaces into growing spaces giving families without gardens a green space to grow their own food. From gardening to Cooking Kids in our community kitchens, cheffing with our Vegetarian and plant based chefs cooking delicious alternatives to meat and sugar using local and seasonal produce to make fresh, healthier meals, snacks, desserts, drinks and even creams and soaps made from plants growing locally. Children learn how to live a healthier lifestyle whilst looking after the local environment, learning life skills of growing and cooking nutritious food. Nourishing the planet one plate at a time.
