A summary

Informal contemporary guitar lessons structured around what you want to learn. During the sessions, we can cover basic chord progressions, learning the chords to your favourite songs, all the way to getting lead guitar gig ready. Coming from a pop/rock performance background, I do not teach formal grades but follow the interests of the learner. I also specialise in getting musicians ready to perform with others, having extensive experience of performing in a band myself, as lead guitar/vocalist.

Lessons will be tailored depending on the age of the learner, ensuring they are engaging for younger students and informative for those who are older and considering careers in music. I am also very happy to teach adults, so please send me a message to make an arrangement.

I have been studying music for almost a decade, having recently completed my Music Composition BTEC at the East Sussex Academy of Music with a Distinction*. Over the last couple of years I have been fronting a band, whilst also pursuing my solo work. As well as gigging regularly in Lewes and Brighton, last November my band was chosen to play at the Music For Youth National Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

Learning aims

Aim 1

To learn the basic open chords, touching on bar chords.

Aim 2

To learn how to play their favourite contemporary music.

Aim 3

To learn the minor pentatonic scale, and to be able to improvise over backing music.

Aim 4

To learn how to collaborate through our one to one sessions.
