A summaryHoliday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme – Grange Primary School
Arrival and Welcome
When children arrive, they will be welcomed by the team and signed in. We will begin the session with a short welcome meeting where the children will introduce themselves and the staff team will also introduce themselves. During this time, we will explain the agenda for the day so everyone knows what activities will be available.
Session Structure
The day will include a range of structured and engaging activities. After the welcome and introduction at the start of the session, children will move into activities both indoors and outdoors. These will run throughout the session with staff supporting and supervising. The children will have lunch at around 12pm. Towards the end of the session there will be time to wind down, tidy up activities, and prepare for collection.
Sports and Physical Activities
We have access to a large outdoor playground where children will take part in a variety of sports based games and active play. These activities are designed to encourage children to stay active, work together, and have fun.
Indoor Activities and Crafts
Indoors, children will have access to a range of constructive toys, books, arts and crafts, and other fun activities. These quieter options allow children to be creative, relax, and choose activities that interest them.
Activity Choice
There will be a variety of activities available throughout the session, and children will be able to choose what they would like to take part in. If a child does not want to participate in a particular activity, alternative options such as crafts, reading, or constructive play will be available.
Spaces Used
Activities will take place both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor playground will mainly be used for sports and active games, while the indoor space will be used for crafts, reading, constructive play, and quieter activities.
Food Provided
Children will be provided with a hot, balanced meal during the session, which will include vegetables and fruit. There will be both halal and non-halal options available, and the setting operates a strict no-nut policy to support children with allergies.
Group Sizes and Age Support
Children will be supported in age appropriate groups during certain activities. Children aged 8+ may take part in separate activities that are more challenging and suited to their age group, while younger children will have activities that are achievable and enjoyable for them. Where needed, different spaces may also be used to support this.
Staff Experience
Sessions are led by our experienced team, including club managers and playworkers who regularly work with children in school and holiday club settings.
SEND Support
We do cater for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our club managers can make reasonable adjustments where needed to help ensure children are safe, supported, and able to enjoy their time at JAG.
Need to KnowFood & Drink: Children have access to water to fill up their water bottles. To ensure all children are safe, please note that all our Holiday Clubs are nut-free zones, including items that state ‘May include nuts’. Please note that if you have a booking through HAF, lunch is provided, and children will only need to bring a refillable water bottle.
Update Details: Please update any medical or contact details within your eequ profile.
Medication and SEND: If your child requires medication or has SEND, please contact JAG at hello@junioradventuresgroup.co.uk stating that you have made a HAF booking and that you need to provide us with your child’s medical or SEND information. You will be asked by the team to complete the relevant forms. These must be completed before your child attends.
Suitable Clothing: With sport & activity on offer every day - we suggest comfortable and practical activewear to tackle a range of onsite facilities. We suggest packing spare clothes for your child, so you don’t mind getting messy due to our outdoor play philosophy and arts & craft activities. For younger children – we recommend packing an extra pair of clothes for any toilet accidents that may happen throughout the day.
Swimming: Please ensure your child has a swimming costume and a towel. See her for more details on what to bring: https://a.storyblok.com/f/166376/x/c7e7cc0af6/holiday-hq-information-guide.pdf
Phones: We ask that all parents/carers refrain from using their phones/smart devices at the club.
