A summary

Christmas Woodland Craft Workshop

Join us for a relaxed and creative day in the beautiful woodland setting of Bodenham Arboretum, where we'll be getting into the Christmas spirit with some traditional woodland crafts.

During this four-hour workshop, you'll make your own Christmas wreath using fresh holly, seasonal greenery and natural decorations. We'll also be making rustic wooden reindeer using logs and branches, along with a selection of smaller Christmas crafts and decorations to take home.

We'll take a break from crafting to gather around the campfire and enjoy a warming homemade soup with freshly cooked bread. Tea and coffee will also be available throughout the day.

It's also a chance to slow down, have a chat, meet new people and enjoy some good company. Whether you come along with a friend or on your own, you'll find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to get to know others while getting creative.

Our team will guide you through the activities, so you don't need any previous crafting experience. Everything you need will be provided, and you'll have plenty of time to work at your own pace.

With just ten places available at each workshop, it's a lovely opportunity to step away from the Christmas rush, learn a few new skills, make new friends and create something special for your home.

Our Christmas Craft Workshops take place at The World Outside Forest School site, set within the woodland at Bodenham Arboretum, rather than in the Arboretum's main buildings.

This is a rustic outdoor experience, so please come prepared for the December weather! We'll have a campfire to gather around, but you'll need to wrap up warm.

What to wear and expect:

  • Plenty of warm layers, a waterproof coat, hat and gloves.
  • Sturdy, waterproof footwear suitable for woodland paths, mud and uneven ground.
  • You'll need to walk through the Arboretum and down into the woodland to reach our Forest School site.
  • Our facilities are simple and rustic, and activities will take place under the cover of our Octagon and outdoors.

Please bear in mind that the walk to the site and the woodland terrain may not be suitable for everyone. If you have any concerns about accessibility, please contact us before booking.

We think being outdoors is part of what makes these workshops special – fresh air, a crackling fire, good company and the chance to enjoy some festive creativity surrounded by nature.
