A summary
Chomp Summer Parties are back again, and we're at the Earthship in Stanmer Park! Chomps are events for families, centred around delicious, fresh, healthy food, crafts, play, and community. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. Our summer parties are all about getting out into nature together. There's always a wild kind of craft and plenty of active games for all ages, but we also love to go foraging together (we love our friends at Urban Forage and try to hang out with them as much as possible), to make lunch together (you'll find humans of all ages chopping fresh coleslaws and cooking flatbreads on a fire), and to build community and solidarity together. In a time when it can seem harder than ever to get our kids off their screens and out of the door, our Summer Parties are something of a tonic. NOTE: Chomp will use a separate booking system and will contact those who register interest.

About your mentor
Chomp Brighton
Fighting food insecurity with fun and friends
Chomp runs lunch clubs during school holidays for families with children receiving benefits-related free school meals, or families on low incomes. Every Chomp involves a fresh nutritious meal, craft activities, and plenty of room for play for the whole family. Chomp is a community - we love to see our families getting involved with food prep, getting out into nature, and building relationships together.
On the day
HOW TO GET TO THE EARTHSHIP Stanmer is just out of Brighton to the north. It's easily accessible by car (park in the Patchway car park) and walk through Stanmer Organics to the Earthship. Alternatively, you can get the 78 Breeze bus all the way to Stanmer Village (Village Church stop) and walk over from there. If accessing the venue is a challenge, let us know. We can also do little lifts from the car park / bus stop to the Earthship itself to save you the walk. (It ABOUT a 10 minute walk over bumpy paths) WHAT NORMALLY HAPPENS ON THE DAY This Chomp starts at 11am and runs until 2pm 11-12.30 - Play, explore, craft, hot drinks for the grownups, and active games and sports. During this hour is when we forage and food prep (depending on the Chomp). 12.30 - 1.15 - Feast together. We always begin with a moment of gratitude, and then we tuck into our fresh, hearty, healthy feast. 1.15 - 2.00 - more play, more making, and clearing up together.

HAF Conditions
A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF-funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Summer, EEQU will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back onto an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally, giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into EEQU and reviewing their Schedule. • Chomp bookings will use a different system, but still count toward an eligible HAF participant's allocation of places.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
