A summary
Chef Off is a fun, hands‑on baking session where young people of all abilities can learn new skills, explore ingredients, and create tasty treats in a calm, supportive environment. With sessions limited to just eight children, every young chef gets plenty of space, attention, and encouragement to learn at their own pace while enjoying teamwork, independence, and lots of sensory‑friendly food fun. Each workshop introduces simple techniques in a reassuring, step‑by‑step way, helping children build confidence as they measure, mix, and decorate. Staff are on hand throughout to offer gentle guidance, celebrate achievements, and adapt activities so everyone can take part comfortably. Families can look forward to proud smiles, delicious bakes, and a truly positive shared experience.

About your mentor
Neighbourly Helpers ltd
Our Neighbour, Your Helper
At Neighbourly Helpers, our mission is to create a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space where young people with special needs can learn, socialise, and thrive. Our hub offers meaningful activities designed to build confidence, encourage independence, and support every young person to express themselves in their own way. We believe in celebrating individuality, promoting inclusion, and working in partnership with families to ensure each child feels valued, understood, and supported. Through structured activities, positive relationships, and a nurturing environment, we aim to help every young person enjoy new experiences, develop life skills, and have fun in a place where they truly belong.
When you arrive
When children arrive at the Neighbourly Helpers Hub, they will be welcomed by our friendly staff and guided into the activity space at a calm, steady pace. We understand that many young people need time to settle, so we create a relaxed, predictable environment with clear routines and gentle transitions. Staff will support each child to hang up their coat, find their space, and feel comfortable before the session begins. Parents and carers are welcome to share any last‑minute information with staff to help us meet their child’s needs. Once everyone is settled, we start the session together with a simple introduction so every child knows what to expect and feels safe, included, and ready to enjoy their time with us.
