A summary
This high-level 3x3 performance run is limited to 24 players, creating a focused and competitive environment. Sessions begin with small-sided games before progressing into intense 3x3 runs, emphasising spacing, decision-making, and game-speed execution. Part of a wider vision to build a consistent local 3x3 culture and pathway toward future Lite Quest events, this is more than a one-off run. Players will receive a 3x3 performance card with feedback, plus a branded t-shirt. Drinks will be available, with Hoop Chips also on sale, though players are encouraged to bring their own.

To give access to anyone to play basketball
I have close to 30 years basketball experience as a player and as a Basketball England, Level 2 qualified coach, involved with some of the country’s leading basketball programmes. There is a new and exciting version of basketball that has recently featured in the Olympics and Commonwealth Games which is called 3x3 and my mission is to teach this new variation of basketball to as many kids as possible because who knows where this could potentially lead? As a basketball coach there is no greater feeling passing on your knowledge & experience to see somebody else put this into play and develop as a basketball player. As you can probably tell basketball is my main hobby so from the minute I wake up my life is about basketball and I will do everything I can to help those who want to carry on playing even after the Portsmouth 3x3 Basketball Camp. When it comes to coaching basketball I always start with teamwork, attitude and communication. Teamwork – recognising your teammates and being prepared to give encouragement. Attitude – being prepared to listen, learn and take accountability. Communication – Things will often go wrong in team sports and when they do it is important we know how to talk & listen to each other so we can move forward in a positive manner.
On arrival
Players should arrive by 09:30 at the latest to allow for a smooth start. On arrival, each player will be checked in and issued their branded 3x3 t-shirt. We will then take a headshot photo for your digital 3x3 player performance card, which will be used to track and share your development following the session. Please be ready to go on court shortly after.
