A summary
Come and learn about all about ponies and their care - once you have groomed and learned to lead your pony you will go to our Oak Lodge Cafe to make a healthy snack. You will then experience a riding session (lesson followed by walkout). You will then be taught about feeding your pony. Finish up with a lovely lunch which you will be involved in making. This activity will involve parents to help lead the ponies on the riding session, For all other parts parents are welcome to stay in the cafe - or join for the whole journey.

Budleigh Riding School LLP
Learn to ride and care for horses in nature
Budleigh Salterton Riding School is a family run business which provides lessons, hacks, treks, equestrian holidays, riding courses and pony days. We are situated on the edge of Woodbury Common in a peaceful country setting, within easy reach of Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Exeter. This provides the ideal location for country rides over heathland with spectacular views of the Jurassic coastline. The British Horse Society Approved riding school also has two large all-weather menages for flatwork and jumping. BHS qualified staff run term time education courses including alternative education programmes and changing lives through horses There is a stunning Oak Lodge Cafe and conference centre on site - Cafe is open Thursdays to Saturdays.

Important informatio
It is really important for your own safety to be in the correct yard and riding attire otherwise we may not be able to allow activities to happen such as riding - please observe the following so you have the best day: please remove all jewellery (if you have recently pierced ears and cannot take earrings out please cover with plasters). All children and adults should be in long trousers and tops which cover the shoulders (when we ride and walkout there are bushes / trees and insects etc - this will protect you). Children's shoes should if possible have a flat sole and small heel - if you are unsure please wear wellies and we will check them. Adults need to be in sturdy boots. Please dress for the weather - rain coats should not be the long style - they must be short style for riding. ON hot days please wear / bring suncream as we are outside most of the time Please be aware we do have a weight limit for the riding part of the pony day of 75kg. Thank you
