What we'll do

Blossoms is a welcoming, inclusive space in Southend-on-Sea designed to support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), complex needs, and their families. Our Stay and Play sessions provide a safe, relaxed environment where children can explore, play, and develop at their own pace while parents and carers feel supported and understood. The space is thoughtfully set up to meet a wide range of sensory, developmental and physical needs- offering a variety of engaging activities and specialist equipment. During our Stay and Play sessions, families can access a wide range of facilities designed to support different abilites. We have sensory spaces, lights and fibre optics. A large soft play area where children can climb, crawl, jump, and move freely in a safe and supportive environment. Our outdoor area provides even more opportunities including a sand pit, activities as well as climbing equipment that supports physical development and adventurous play. Throughout the sessions, we also offer a variety of hands-on activities including fun tuff trays and messy play experiences. We have many tailoured and staff-led activities too. At Blossoms, we're passionate about creating a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive. Blossoms was founded on the belief that every child deserves to play, learn, and connect in a safe and supportive environment. Our sessions are designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and joy—tailored with care to meet individual needs. But we're not just here for the children—we’re here for the whole family, providing a sense of community, understanding, and encouragement every step of the way.

Based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, we exist to fill a vital gap in activities and support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), complex needs, and their families. We understand that finding inclusive, accessible, and meaningful opportunities can be challenging — and that’s where we come in. Blossoms SEND CIC was founded on the belief that every child deserves the chance to play, learn, and connect in a safe, nurturing environment, regardless of ability. Our sessions are thoughtfully designed to build confidence, encourage creativity, and spark joy, with each activity carefully tailored to meet individual needs. But our support goes beyond the children — we are here for families too, offering a community built on understanding, empathy, and connection. Blossoms provides stay and plays, activities, and opportunities for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), complex needs and their families in Essex.

Is this suitable for my SEND child?

We support children with all types of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, learning disabilities, profound and complex physical disabilities and complex needs. Every child is unique, and our environment is created to be flexible and adaptable so that children can engage in ways that work best for them.
