A summary
Has your child already completed Bikeability Level 1 & 2? Would they like to develop their skills and understanding further? Then this Bikeability Level 3 and Fix course is ideal for them! The course is designed to give children aged 10-16 years old who have already completed Levels 1 & 2, the opportunity to 1. learn how to ride in more challenging urban situations and 2. ensure their bike is safe to use and undertake minor repairs (including repairing a puncture). The 1 day course comprises of 5 hours of training (including a 1 hour lunch break).

We are on a mission to help more children and their families enjoy the benefits of cycling in Norfolk/Suffolk.

All training is delivered by Little Riders professional national cycle instructors who have attended first aid and safeguarding training and have undertaken a Enhanced DBS check. Who can join? - This course is suitable for children aged 10-16 years old who have already completed Bikeability Level 1 & 2 training. What will they need? - Children need a road worthy bike (with two working brakes) and a helmet to use during the course. If your child doesn't have a bike or helmet don't worry as we can lend them both items. Simply indicate when booking what equipment you would like to borrow and we will bring it along for them. Children should wear suitable outdoor clothing during the course and bring a drink each day. What to expect - The course includes Bikeability Level 3 & Fix training. - AM - Bikeability FIX, riders will learn; the essentials of cycle maintenance, how to ensure your cycle is always road-worthy, repair a puncture and replace an inner tube - PM - Bikeability Level 3 will teach children more advanced skills, including how to: use the best riding position for any situation, ride alongside other cyclists, ride on more complex roads, negotiate more complex roads, respond confidently when a situation changes. Each attendee will receive a nutritious lunch, so please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking so we can cater for them. Location - This activity will be based at City Academy Norwich (299 Bluebell Road, Norwich, NR4 7LP) on both days. Training will take place on site at the school and on local roads. Parking is available on site for drop-off and collection each day.
