What we'll do
Big Up Communities delivers a vibrant and inclusive FREE Playscheme at The Stewarts Road Adventure Playground through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) scheme, aimed at children and young people aged 8–16 who are eligible for free school meals. The playscheme offers a safe, supportive, and engaging environment during the Winter holidays, with a focus on creativity, wellbeing, physical activity, and nutrition. Each day, children participate in a rich mix of structured and free-play activities. Including arts and crafts, music production, adventure play, physical challenges and workshops that encourage self-expression and build confidence. Physical wellbeing is prioritised through a wide variety of sports such as Mixed Martial Arts, football, basketball, athletics, and team games, designed to promote teamwork and physical fitness in a fun, non-competitive way. In addition to recreational activities, Big Up Communities places a strong emphasis on learning and life skills. Children take part in gardening, cooking workshops, and environmental projects, fostering responsibility, teamwork, and sustainability awareness. Daily hot meals and healthy snacks are provided, and nutrition education is integrated into sessions to promote healthy lifestyle habits. All activities are delivered by trained and DBS-checked staff who are experienced in working with diverse groups, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. By the end of the programme, participants leave with new friendships, improved confidence, enhanced skills, and positive memories. Big Up Communities’ Winter HAF play schemes not only keep children active and engaged during the holidays but also help to reduce food insecurity and provide vital support for families in the local community.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
