The Boar Oak Project CELTIC FESTIVAL OF FERTILITY FOR THE EARTH & ALL LIFE Join Simon to celebrate the Spring Cross Quarter point Celtic festival within an ancient woodland. Immerse yourself in rural crafts, practical tasks, fire, hearth, singing and feasting while camping on a real Iron Age Fort from the native Celtic tribe... AND LEAP THE FIRE! Be part of the epic and ancient craft of charcoal burning! In West Sussex (near Forest Row) ************************************************************************************************** Volunteer roles ‣ Chef & assistant ‣ Task workers Email for questions or to secure a place ~ ironagesmith@gmail.com Project tasks may include: The Charcoal burn > Build earth clamp > Lighting of the clamp > Shift rotation watching over the clamp > Building charcoal burner’s hut > Opening of the clamp > Cooling & grading charcoal ************************************************************************************************** Dates, times and investment FOR NEW & RETURNING VOLUNTEERS Arrival Friday 31ST, between 3PM - 8:30PM or Saturday/ Sunday between 8AM- 9:30am Camp ends Sunday 8PM Work hours 10 - 4pm Work days ~ Friday 29th - Sunday 31st May 2026 Arrive between 3PM - 8:30PM to set up camp, settle in or Saturday/ Sunday between 8AM- 9:30am >>> Weekend contribution £26 - £32 per adult and £16 - £21 per child (over 10 years old) based on what you can afford. - Includes food & firewood and free camping. (Free entry for the chef.) FOR RETURNING VOLUNTEERS Work days ~ Monday 25th - Sunday 31st May 2026 >>> Added week day contribution As this is a special week long camp we are asking for an additional £11 / £16 per extra day for child/ adult returning volunteers. - Includes food & firewood and free camping. (Free entry for the chef.) *** No refunds can be given, however if you cancel over 48 hours before the event, you may have your booking credited to the next event. *** ************************************************************************************************** There is always a strong hearth burning to warm yourself by.
