FREE Filmmaking Workshops for Young People

Come and join us for 4 FREE sessions where young people can learn filmmaking skills from professional filmmakers!

Across the workshops, participants will work together to write, act, film, and edit their very own TV adverts.

No experience needed — just a willingness to be creative, share ideas, and work as part of a team.

Key details:
• Suitable for ages 10 – 18 years
• Maximum of 20 places available per workshop.
• We prefer participants to attend all 4 sessions (since the project builds toward a finished advert), but you’re welcome to join a few sessions if that’s all you can manage.
• You do not have to appear on camera if you don’t want to — there are plenty of behind-the-scenes roles!

What you’ll do (general guide):
• Session 1: Brainstorming film ideas, scriptwriting, learning about shot sizes and camera movement, film vocabulary, acting for screen, and discussing props, costumes, and crew roles.
• Sessions 2–3: Filming and editing.
• Session 4: Filming, editing, and a special screening for family and friends!

Schedule:
• 11 – 4pm, with a lunch break

What to bring:
• Please bring your own lunch
• Refillable drinks bottle
• Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and weather

Come along, be creative, and discover how adverts are made!
