Bat stories - clay tile workshop block mentored by Greenwood Growth CIC
What we'll do
You will be making a 6 x 6 inch clay tile telling a short story of whimsical encounters with Bats in Leek. Completed tiles will be installed in places Bats have been sighted in Leek for passersby to discover. Local artist, Chris, will introduce the materials, explain and demonstrate how to make a clay tile, and support you through the creative process that will include working with relief, stamps and glazing. Time permitting, you will also make a small souvenir for home. During the workshop we will explain more about our project, developing a 'Bat Trail' in Leek.

About your mentor
Greenwood Growth CIC
Immerse, discover, connect in nature.
We work in community woodland offering compassionate support to people focused on connection to self, others and a belonging to the natural world. Over half the population lives within six miles of a forest or small woodland and we think most people don’t visit them at all, or just pass through. Greenwood Growth makes your local space fun, safe and inviting places to spend time. We want to get you amongst the trees to begin exploring and to feel the positive effect on health and well-being for yourself.
When you arrive
On arrival at The Foxlowe you will be welcomed by hosts, Lorna, Willow and Caroline, and invited to help yourself to a drink before joining the workshop in The Clay Collective. If you feel peckish there will be biscuits or cake available to keep you going whilst you create.
