A summary

Each day kicks off with registration and a quick run-through of our house rules to make sure everyone feels safe, included, and ready for fun!

We’ll then split into age groups so activities are matched to everyone’s ability and confidence levels. Together, we’ll have a group discussion to plan the day’s basketball games, skill challenges, and team activities — so everyone has a say in the fun!

Alongside the action on court, we’ll also have a Healthy Eating Talk, where we’ll chat about good food choices, staying active, and how to fuel your body like an athlete.

Get ready for four days of energy, teamwork, and smiles!

Every Child Matters

Over 28 years of delivering sporting activities, I’ve learned that sport changes lives. It gives young people structure, purpose, and a sense of belonging — especially those who may struggle in other areas of life.

Through basketball and other activities, I’ve seen how children develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and resilience while learning to respect themselves and others.

The HAF Fun Basketball Programme continues this mission — using sport not just for fitness and fun, but as a tool to inspire positive attitudes, healthy lifestyles, and lifelong skills both on and off the court.

Better Communities

These learning aims help children grow both on and off the court. By combining sport, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle education, the programme supports children’s physical, social, and emotional development.

Physically, it keeps them active, improves coordination, and builds healthy habits.

Socially - it encourages communication, respect, and teamwork — helping children make new friends and work well with others.

Emotionally - it boosts confidence, self-esteem, and resilience through encouragement and success.

Educationally - it reinforces positive attitudes, focus, and responsibility — skills that transfer into school and everyday life.

In short, it’s not just about playing basketball — it’s about building stronger, healthier, and happier young people.
