About your mentor
Jolly Good Communities
Jolly Good Communities
Jolly Good Communities empower and enable volunteers to plan and organise events in our communities. We aim to improve community cohesion, community pride and reduce social isolation using events at the tool. Our events are aimed to be intergenerational, engaging, welcoming and a safe space for people to spend time, enjoy and socialise. We make great use of the green spaces and collaborate with various community organisations. There are also huge benefits for the volunteers we engage with including improved mental health and confidence and learning skills that can help them get back into work. We also have a team of young volunteers aged 11-19 who feel more part of the community since volunteering with us. We want to create more opportunities for people to improve their mental and physical health by volunteering with us at local community events. Increasing their sense of belonging and community pride.
