These programs include hacking flatwork, jumping and stable management designed to enhance both horse and rider's skills. On this day the children will experience a pony ride if they would like to Stable management activities for children can be both educational and fun, helping them learn essential skills related to horse care and stable upkeep. Here are some common activities that children may engage in and may change according to the days or weather Grooming: Children can learn how to properly groom horses, including brushing, hoof cleaning, and checking for injuries or irritations. This teaches them about horse care and builds a bond between the rider and the horse. Feeding: Kids can help prepare and distribute feed for the horses, learning about proper nutrition and dietary needs. They may also learn how to recognize healthy eating habits in horses. Cleaning Stables: Children can assist in mucking out stalls, which involves removing waste and soiled bedding. This activity teaches responsibility and the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the horses. Tacking Up: Learning how to properly tack up a horse (putting on the saddle, bridle, etc.) is an essential skill. Children can practice this under supervision, ensuring they understand safety and equipment handling. Basic Horse Health Checks: Kids can be taught to observe and recognise signs of good health in horses, including checking for temperature, pulse, and general demeanor. Leading and Handling Horses: Children can practice leading horses in and out of the barn, which helps them develop confidence and handling skills. They learn how to approach and interact with horses safely. Understanding Horse Behaviour: Activities may include learning about horse body language and behaviour, helping children understand how to interact with horses in a safe manner. Assisting with Turnout: Children can help in turning horses out to pasture, which allows them to learn about herd dynamics and the importance of physical exercise for horses. Learning Equipment Maintenance: Kids can be taught how to clean and maintain tack and other equipment, understanding the importance of keeping gear in good condition. All of the activities not only teach essential skills but also instill a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and respect for horses and their care. The lessons are taught by an international show jumper with years of experience and a strong passion.to help others
