A summary

Our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme offers a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children and young people can enjoy a wide range of fun, enriching activities during the school holidays. Designed to support both wellbeing and development, our sessions provide opportunities for young people to stay active, build confidence, develop new skills, and form positive friendships. Each day is carefully planned to include a balance of physical activity, creativity, and wellbeing support. Young people can take part in a variety of sports such as football, rugby, basketball, tennis, and archery, all delivered by experienced and qualified coaches. Alongside this, we offer inclusive and creative options for those who may prefer non-sport activities, including arts and crafts, music production, baking, design projects, and board games. A key focus of the programme is encouraging young people to build confidence and try new experiences in a supportive environment. Sessions are structured but flexible, allowing participants to choose activities that suit their interests while also encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zone. As part of the HAF programme, all attendees are provided with nutritious meals and snacks. Young people are often involved in preparing food themselves, helping them to learn valuable life skills such as cooking, teamwork, and making healthy choices. Our aim is to promote positive relationships with food and ensure that no child goes without a healthy meal during the holidays. We also integrate wellbeing support throughout the programme. This includes informal discussions, structured workshops, and activities designed to support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-esteem. Our experienced youth workers are on hand to provide guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear where needed. An important part of our provision is the opportunity for older young people to develop leadership skills. We support trained young leaders (aged 16–18) to assist with sessions, giving them valuable experience in coaching, mentoring, and teamwork. This creates positive role models for younger participants and helps build pathways for future employment or volunteering. Our programme is inclusive and open to children and young people of all abilities, with a strong focus on creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. We work closely with families, schools, and partner organisations to ensure we are meeting the needs of our local community. Whether it’s taking part in sports, learning a new creative skill, enjoying a healthy meal, or simply spending time with friends, our HAF programme provides a positive and enriching holiday experience that supports young people to grow, thrive, and have fun.
