Use code FIRSTTIME for £3 reduction Our Intermediate Contemporary Technique Classes are designed for adults with some prior dance experience who are ready to develop their technique, performance quality, and physicality further. These 1-hour sessions offer a dynamic and challenging environment where you'll refine your skills, deepen your movement vocabulary, and explore more complex contemporary dance sequences. Classes focus on strength, control, fluidity, and expression, combining technical exercises with creative tasks and full-bodied phrases. Expect to spin, jump, drop, and travel — pushing your physicality while staying connected to musicality and intention. Whether you're returning to dance or looking to progress your training, this class offers the space to grow, sweat, and move with purpose — all within a supportive and inspiring atmosphere.

Ascension uses Parkour and Dance to empower and inspire people. Based in the heart of Coventry at their home, Studio 17, they run classes for all ages, including young people with additional needs. Our goal isn’t just to create the next generation of dancers (though that would be amazing); it’s to use movement to develop resilient, well-rounded humans. Join a class and experience the warmth and community vibe for yourself.

AJ, Company Director of Ascension, is a warm and energising presence, always seeking new ways to get people moving and to share the joy he discovered in movement as a young person. He thrives on seeing someone achieve something they once thought impossible and is excited to support new participants as they discover their own potential through Ascension workshops.

Performer, Teacher and Choreographer
Warm & bubbly. Frankie believes people are capable of much more than they know. Her lessons encourage risk taking and being bold. Either through creative challenges, expanding movement or developing technical skills. Come join her sessions, find your own flow and push through limitations!
What shall I wear..
What Should I Wear? Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. While we’ll get moving fairly quickly, the studio can sometimes feel a little cool at the start or during slower sections of class, so bringing a hoodie or jumper is a good idea. We recommend avoiding your best clothes, as contemporary dance often involves floor work like rolling, sliding, and travelling across different surfaces, which can cause some wear and tear. Footwear: We dance barefoot or in socks — whichever you prefer and feel safe in. No specialist footwear is needed.
