What we'll do
Welcome to the Active Future Summer Futsal Camp! Join us for an action-packed, pressure-free football and futsal experience designed specifically for ages 11 to 16. Featuring fast-paced tournament-style matches and high-level coaching, our sessions include a fantastic mix of technical drills and fun challenges to keep everyone moving. We uniquely design our activities to engage absolutely everyone—even the typically "un-sporty" or disengaged young person—by removing traditional, elite competition to create a highly inclusive environment. We focus heavily on fundamental movement skills, close ball control, and creative problem-solving to boost self-esteem, build resilience, and guarantee fun. Lunch & Nutrition A hot, healthy lunch and snacks are provided daily, supplied by our fantastic catering partner, The Butchers Cat. Meals are served "home style" with young people and coaches sitting together communally to make lunch a positive, inclusive social event. During lunch, our coaches also run a quick, interactive "Fuel for Sport" game to discuss how healthy food helps our bodies recover! Inclusion & SEND Every child is welcome. Our camp relies on inclusive play to create a psychologically safe environment where young people with neurodivergent needs (such as ADHD or ASD) can truly thrive. Our venue at Manor Sports Centre is fully wheelchair accessible, and our staff are trained in Autism Awareness and Positive Behaviour Support. If your child requires a visual timetable, a pre-camp reassurance call, or wishes to attend with their own Personal Assistant, please just let us know! While we keep things flexible to suit the energy levels of the group, a typical day at our camp looks like this: A typical day Morning: Welcome, fun warm-up games, and technical skill challenges. Mid-Morning: Break time and healthy snacks. Late Morning: Fast-paced, pressure-free tournament matches. Lunch: A communal hot meal provided by The Butchers Cat, featuring our quick "Fuel for Sport" chat. Afternoon: Final futsal games, awards for effort, and cool down!

About your mentor
Active Future Brighton
Inclusive sports for every child.
Active Future Brighton delivers dynamic, highly inclusive physical activity and holiday camp programmes designed to ensure every single child can experience the joy of movement. Moving away from traditional, high-pressure competitive sports, we specialise in engaging, alternative games like soft-tip archery, dodgeball, and futsal. Our primary focus is on building confidence, teamwork, and resilience in a deeply supportive environment where effort is always celebrated over ability. We intentionally design our sessions to be fully accessible, warmly welcoming children of all backgrounds—including neurodivergent learners and those with specific educational or emotional needs. Ultimately, our goal is to use play to help children thrive, make friends, and discover a genuine love for being active.
What to Bring
Please send your child in comfortable athletic clothing (sports kit) and indoor trainers (no boots with studs, please!). Every child will also need a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated during the matches. We provide absolutely all the sporting equipment, plus a hot lunch and snacks, so there is no need to pack a lunch unless your child has very specific dietary requirements.
Learning aims
Aim 1

Aim 2
Build self-esteem, resilience, and teamwork skills in a pressure-free, totally inclusive environment.
Aim 3
Understand the importance of healthy eating and hydration through our daily, interactive "Fuel for Sport" lunch discussions.
HAF Conditions
A few terms & conditions from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Summer, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.
