A summary
Join us each week throughout the summer holidays for a series of creative wood craft sessions. Would you like to make a yoyo, a sword, carve an animal, carve a treasure, make a candle or a musical instrument? Each week introduces new skills and techniques, gradually building on skills in each session - each workshop can also be enjoyed as a standalone experience, with a unique piece of artwork to take home at the end of the day. Why not extend your time at Acorn Hollow? We will be enjoying a picnic lunch between 12pm and 1pm, and participants are welcome to join us by booking a free lunch ticket when reserving their place.

About your mentors
Acorn Hollow
Farm, Forest and Fun
Acorn Hollow is located about 3 miles out of Market Weighton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, in the tranquil Goodmanham Dale valley on a small working farm. We have a passion for person centred learning, always involving natural crafts, farming and the environment in our work. Activities are provided for a range of ages from pre-school to adults, there is something for everyone. Acorn Hollow is run by Rebecca, who is a qualified Forest School Practitioner, with further qualifications including Outdoor Pediatric First Aid, Safe-guarding, Food Hygine. Rebecca has worked with youth groups for a number of years and brought up her own children, supporting their learning and encouraging enjoyment and appreciation of the outdoors. You will often find Rebecca working alongside other collegues Ruth, Lynne, Cindy, Peter, Evie and Alice, all of them bringing their own extertise and knowledge to the sessions, all key collegues are fully DBS checked.

You will most likely meet me as soon as you arrive at Acorn Hollow, I feel privileged that I get to share Acorn Hollow with others. You will usually find me with a special stone, a piece of wool I found in the field, a leaf or some other treasure in my pocket. I get to call the animals here my family and the dale my home. I can't wait to meet you and get to know you. I hope to see you really soon.
