A summary
Phil Greenwood is leading a day of The Beauty of Bird Language during our Intergenerational Deep Nature Camp which is part of the longer adventure: Touchstones - Medicine for the Earth, Medicine for the Heart. Understanding bird language - what they are telling each other and what they are telling us - is a skill which has many practical applications. It can enrich your life in surprising ways. Bird language is an ancient skill that people have used to help them survive and thrive for thousands of years. It has largely been forgotten but is sorely needed at this time of cultural upheaval and shifting natural patterns. In an era marked by increasing disconnection from nature, self and others, the practice of learning bird language will give you the tools to be successful in your relationships, your career and your community. It will enhance your awareness and your ability to experience empathy, compassion, attentiveness, sensitivity to your surroundings and to other people. Your participation in this day's activities will open up a new world of understanding and help achieve a 'quiet mind', resulting in increased peace and happiness. This has a ripple effect that will benefit you and your loved ones. It will also enhance your ability to become a successful nature mentor to others. You will: Play games, learn the five voices of the birds, and awaken your senses to the vibrant story of the land. Share your gifts into the melting pot of the community basket. Have fun finding our local flora and discover some of their uses. Themed Day Offerings – £65 (concession £55), youth £45 incl. lunch Optional overnight stay: +£25 supplement - Get in touch for details and this option ✨ Monday – The Beauty of Bird Language Other Day offerings: ✨ Sunday – Wellbeing in Nature with Suzy Greenwood Experience restorative nature-based techniques for health and energy. ✨ Saturday – Plant Medicine and Herbalism with Sarah Turton Get hands-on with local plants, make your own potions, and explore a deeper relationship with the green world. This is a rare opportunity to experience nature in a truly connective, intergenerational way. Whether for a day or the whole adventure, we’d love to see you there. About your mentor
Phil
Nature educator & environmentalist
Hello, I'm Phil Greenwood. I am the founder of Sacred Earth. I'm a former Royal Marine Commando but have spent the last 20 years working with young people in outdoor education and taking adults on deep nature connection journeys. I'm an experienced group facilitator, mentor and naturalist. I have studied, practiced and taught advanced shamanic and connection practices from both the British Isles and other indigenous cultures around the world. I'm also part of the global 8 Shields nature mentoring movement. I strongly believe that people need nature based rites-of-passage programmes to help them find their place in the world. At Sacred Earth we aim to do just that. Our courses and programmes help people develop their social and emotional intelligence through a range of experiential learning programmes, which can be tailored to and delivered at a site of your choice. We encourage creativity, community, ingenuity and a deep connection with the natural world.
