A summary
We are delighted that Sarah Turton is leading a day of Plant Medicine & Herbalism during our Intergenerational Deep Nature Camp which is part of the longer adventure: Touchstones - Medicine for the Earth, Medicine for the Heart. Course Overview: Wild Foraging & Herbal Medicine-Making – Oxymels & Bite Balms Join us for a hands-on, nature-based workshop where you'll learn how to identify and gather medicinal plants in the wild, and then transform them into two beautiful, practical remedies: a healing herbal oxymel and a soothing bite balm. We begin with a guided foraging walk through a local meadow, woodland, or hedgerow. You'll learn how to safely identify seasonal plants, understand their traditional uses, and connect with them in their natural habitat. This part of the session is all about slowing down, tuning in, and learning how to respectfully work with wild medicine. In the second part, we’ll come together to create two herbal preparations. First, a personalised oxymel—a delicious, vinegar and honey-based remedy to support digestion, immunity, or seasonal wellness. Second, a calming bite balm made with freshly infused oils to soothe itches, bites, and minor skin irritations. You’ll leave with both remedies, new skills, and a deeper appreciation for the medicine growing all around you. Sarah is a Master Medicinal Herbalist and Iridologist. Master Herbalists honour the earth's wisdom and are committed to helping others thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to: ✨ Get hands-on with local plants, make your own potions, and explore a deeper relationship with the green world. Themed Day Offerings – £65 (concession £55), youth £45 incl. lunch Optional overnight stay: +£25 supplement - Get in touch for details and this option ✨ Saturday – Plant Medicine & Herbalism with Sarah Turton Other Day offerings: ✨ Sunday – Wellbeing in Nature with Suzy Greenwood Experience restorative nature-based techniques for health and energy. ✨ Monday – The Beauty of Bird Language Play games, learn the five voices of the birds, and awaken your senses to the vibrant story of the land. This is a rare opportunity to experience nature in a truly connective, intergenerational way. Whether for a day or the whole adventure, we’d love to see you there. About your mentors
Phil
Nature educator & environmentalist
Hello, I'm Phil Greenwood. I am the founder of Sacred Earth. I'm a former Royal Marine Commando but have spent the last 20 years working with young people in outdoor education and taking adults on deep nature connection journeys. I'm an experienced group facilitator, mentor and naturalist. I have studied, practiced and taught advanced shamanic and connection practices from both the British Isles and other indigenous cultures around the world. I'm also part of the global 8 Shields nature mentoring movement. I strongly believe that people need nature based rites-of-passage programmes to help them find their place in the world. At Sacred Earth we aim to do just that. Our courses and programmes help people develop their social and emotional intelligence through a range of experiential learning programmes, which can be tailored to and delivered at a site of your choice. We encourage creativity, community, ingenuity and a deep connection with the natural world.
