A summary
This sessions are reserved for Children with SEND who have more complex needs. For those SEND Children who perhaps benefit from 1:1 support in other settings, are a flight risk, suffer high levels of anxiety, or who display more behavioural challenges. Alternatively, these tickets can be requested by more experienced Anglers who are familiar to us and hope to advance their skills with more complex techniques and tackle - and would like 1:1 tuition and learn new skills of independence.

About your mentor
Angling4Education
Accessible and Unique Fishing Activities
Angling4Education is primarily an Alternative Provision Provider. However in addition, we have been successfully delivering Short Breaks sessions in West Sussex for over 9 years and are now offering these opportunities to Brighton & Hove Families for the first time this season. Although the key focus of Short Breaks is slightly different to that of our Alternative Provision, the ethos and approach remain the same. Our approach is to offer exciting, unique, and highly accessible outdoor activities, in this case Fishing, and will engage Children/Young People and give them opportunities to grow and develop, and importantly give them the confidence and motivation to access activities and the natural environment independently of A4E. A snapshot of our Short Break evaluations conducted by participants in 2021-22 demonstrates some of the success we have achieved within the Programme. 100% of parents/carers would recommend the session. 94% of parents/carers reported that sessions having had a positive impact on their family. 92% of all participants described their enjoyment of the sessions as either Good (4/5) or Very Good (5/5).
