A summary
Our 1-2-1 child-led sessions offer a personalised and empowering experience tailored to each child's interests and needs. These sessions provide an opportunity for children to explore the farm at their own pace, engaging in activities that spark their curiosity and creativity. Whether it’s spending time with the animals, gardening, crafting, or simply exploring the natural surroundings, each session is guided by the child’s choices, ensuring a meaningful and enjoyable experience. With the gentle support of our experienced staff, children can build confidence, develop new skills, and connect with nature in a way that feels right for them. These sessions are perfect for children who thrive with individualised attention and a flexible, nurturing environment. These sessions are pre-arranged before booking, so we can ensure we can cater for your young person's needs and find a mutually suitable time and date. About your mentors
The Woad Farm Project
Getting young people outside with animals!
The Woad Farm Project is a not-for-profit farm, set up to support the wellbeing of children and young people in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. We have a particular focus on looked after or care-experienced children, but are driven by the opportunity to share the benefits of animals, nature and the outdoors to all children. Sessions leaders are fully DBS checked and First Aid trained too.
Vicky Crawford
Session Leader
Hi I’m Vicky and I’ve been working with young people for 20 years; firstly as a Geography Teacher and latterly in alternative education. I love the outdoors and grow flowers for drying and natural dyeing. Foraging amongst the seasons with my Greek rescue dogs Dimi and Lola is one of my favourite pastimes, and I can often be found exploring the fields around Hanslope with my three children. I can’t wait to start my Woad Farm journey and meet you all.
Jess Smith
Session Leader
Jess loves spending time outdoors, either on long walks with her dog Bonnie, the golden retriever, or down at the allotment. She loves learning about nature, animals, plants and the environment. Jess has worked for the Parks Trust in Milton Keynes delivering Forest Schools and environmental education sessions, and enjoys nothing more than sharing the joy of the outdoors with others.

Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least 48 hours before the start to receive a full refund. We are generous with our rescheduling and cancelling policy although it remains at management’s discretion. Please help us by giving at least 2 days notice by email or phone. We are an all-weather facility and cannot refund or reschedule due to wet weather but are happy to help if you are prevented from using your session due to illness or accident. We do not refund if you do not turn up and then contact us later as we will have arranged staff for your session. Cancelling less than 2 days before booking or no-show, we are unable to refund your money in this situation, nor offer you another visit. Prior to this time frame, we can look to rearrange your session at the management’s discretion.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
