Southend's Youth Voice Team

The Southend Youth Voice Team plays a key role in empowering children, young people, and families across Southend-on-Sea by ensuring their voices are not only heard, but meaningfully influence local decision-making. We lead a range of youth forums including: - Southend City Youth Council - Cared for Children’s Council - Experts by Experience - SEND Youth Forum These forums provide young people with the opportunity to express their views, shape policy, and co-produce services that impact their lives. Through these platforms, we help turn young voices into real change for the community. This summer we have worked with members of Southend City Youth Council and Children in Care Council to create 4 action-packed activity days called 'GET DAYS'. Get Outside, Get Active, Get Safe & Get Calm were all designed in response to Southend's top issues for young people aged 11-18 (as identified by 9,978 young people, in Make Your Mark 2024)
