A summary
Creative activities and delicious food! Join Collective Encounters for our Winter Arts Adventure! Young people are invited to try out different creative activities and delicious food in a series of arts workshops over the winter holidays, taking place at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Participants will meet new people, have fun, learn new skills, find out how to develop their interests, and learn about options for further study at LIPA and other educational establishments. Workshop sessions (2nd-4th Jan 2025) will be led by professionals specialising in drama, creative writing, music, dance, drawing, and cooking. Young people will have the option to attend a theatre trip (27th Dec 2024). Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day, as well as support with travel expenses/arrangements. Please in the first instance contact Children’s services to arrange travel expenses support. If there are any issues with securing this please contact eleanor@collective-encounters.org.uk This programme is specifically for looked after young people aged 10-16. Each week the project will run: Theatre trip: 27/12/2024 - 6pm - 10pm (More details on this to be confirmed, e.g. Location and show). Workshop sessions: 02/01/2025 - 10am - 3pm 03/01/2025 - 10am - 3pm 04/01/2025 - 10am - 3pm The workshop sessions will be based at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), please use the entrance via Pilgrim street.

Collective Encounters is a catalyst, creating an open environment that builds power within participants, partners and communities through compelling storytelling and imagining new worlds. We have a participatory theatre programme that stretches across the Liverpool City Region and extend an open invitation to everyone to come and get involved. Our learning events and resources are deigned for artists, academics and activists at any stage of their career. Our creative participatory research approach is used by local authorities, NGO’s, academic and other public agencies and enable everyone to come together in critical inquiry to strengthen and develop their own communities.
