A summary
Creative activities and delicious food! Join Collective Encounters for our Summer Arts Adventure for Care Experienced young people. Try out different activities and delicious food in a series of creative workshops over the Summer holidays. Weeks One (July 28th, 29th, 30th &31) and Two (4th, 5th, 6th & 7th August) will be across the City and will consist of be trips and Master Classes. Weeks Three (11th, 12th 13th & 14th August) and Four (18th, 19th, 20th & 21st) will taking place at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts from 10am - 3pm The Arts Adventure is a chance to meet new people, have fun, learn new skills, develop new interests, and learn about options for further study at LIPA and other educational establishments. This holiday's theme is 'The Art of being me' All workshop sessions are led by professionals specialising in drama, creative writing, dance, music, drawing, and cooking. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. This programme is specifically for care experienced young people aged 10-16. There will be a sharing to an invites audience of Friends, families and carers on the afternoon of the Wednesday 20th August The workshop sessions that are based at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), require you to use the entrance via Pilgrim street. Collective Encounters is a catalyst, creating an open environment that builds power within participants, partners and communities through compelling storytelling and imagining new worlds. We have a participatory theatre programme that stretches across the Liverpool City Region and extend an open invitation to everyone to come and get involved. Our learning events and resources are deigned for artists, academics and activists at any stage of their career. Our creative participatory research approach is used by local authorities, NGO’s, academic and other public agencies and enable everyone to come together in critical inquiry to strengthen and develop their own communities. Collective Encounters is a place of inclusivity, openness and connection and we welcome you to our community.
