A summary
Informative and engaging sessions from the Welfare Rights & Debt Advice Service on complex aspects of the welfare benefits system. These sessions will provide participants with an understanding and an overview of the benefits system, where to see advice and how to refer in for specialist advice and representation. We also focus on where to seek advice from regarding debt matters, how to maximise someone's income and where to seek support from in a financial emergency. The third topic of our sessions is this two hour informative and engaging overview of understanding benefits for children & families, including a focus on claiming Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children and some of the complexities of the process, and how to refer into the Welfare Rights & Debt Advice Service for specialist advice on UC, debt, and all other social security benefit matters. Participants will achieve a better understanding of the benefits system and where to seek advice and support from in order to assist the clients they work with in accessing support.
