A SUMMARY
In this block, we will explore technological, economic and societal aspects of the first two industrial revolutions while making connections to the third and fourth. The lessons will cover steam power and rail travel, the textile industry, slavery, colonialism, the telegraph, advances in medicine, New Lanark, and electricity, among other things, going as far as automobiles and airplanes. We will compare these developments and their consequences with aspects of the digital revolution, drawing in some of the topics we've been discussing in our Current Affairs lesson.
