A SUMMARY
A course for fundamental skills and understanding for young people to stay safe and curious in the great connected internet. Each learner will need their own laptop - tablet computers aren't suitable for these lessons. Laptops needn't be flashy or especially modern, but they must be capable of running simple office software and connecting to the internet. Lesson plan intentions: Week 1: Introduction to using internet-capable devices and computer security (What viruses are, where they can be found, the damage they can do, and how they can be prevented) Week 2: Introduction to the use of office software in general, and using word processor software. Week 3: Using Publisher/print layout style software. Demonstrating the difference to typical word processors and having the class design flyers or posters.
