What we'll do
Firstly fill in our registration forms and ensure your all in your protective clothing ready to have some fun, make new friends and learn all about horses within a safe environment. Activities may vary but we aim to groom, ride and possibly lead a pony. There will be other fun games and learning to join in with plus snacks, refreshments and a well earned rosette. Parents and guardians are asked to stay until independent learning is approved. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The Gartmore Riding School Riding for the Disabled Group is an organisation in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. They offer opportunities to people of all backgrounds, working to break down barriers—whether social, emotional, physical, or psychological. Their activities include riding lessons, themed and sensory courses, social coffee mornings, and training in equitation. Recently, they’ve expanded into outdoor education with a pathway learning trail to explore. The group has extensive experience working with children, young people, and adults with varying abilities and mobility needs.
Extra information
Refreshments on site , lunch provided to take home. Could you please arrive ten minutes before 11am so we can go through registration forms and put on hats and boots, thank you. Each day consists of hands on pony care activities and horse riding! We will provide each young person with the correct PPE for the day, we ask that attire is weather appropriate athleisure wear ensuring shoulders and legs are covered.

Aim 1
Approach and make friends with a pony
Aim 3
Enjoy riding or leading your very own pony.
Aim 5
Opportunities to progress at riding and join our pony club leading on to training to an RDA volunteer.
Aim 2
Learn all about the points of the pony and the importance of horse care. This could be through grooming , washing or bandaging a pony.
Aim 4
Make friends , improve general fitness and health.
