We encourage young people to play together to develop their social skills and we offer activities that enhance their skills such as creating a mural in the arts session or learning new skills through games and sports. About your mentor
Staffordshire Clubs for Young People
Involve, Enjoy, Achieve
Staffordshire Clubs for Young People (SCYP), registered charity N° 522814, works with young people aged 5 to 16 throughout the Staffordshire area, delivering various youth clubs, holiday clubs, sports and health projects and youth events. Our work focuses on providing subsidised or even free positive activities where young people enjoy, learn and have fun.
food
At SCYP we realise that all children have varying food tastes, and at times that can be hard to cater for every individual need, but we try and make sure our food is well prepared, tasty, nutritious and lots of it. Examples of our food are pasta bake and garlic bread, crispy chicken wraps, homemade pizzas or even a jacket potato with a choice of fillings. If our club is starting in the morning there will always be toast and cereal with a hot drink. We also encourage young people to eat the free fruit on offer.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Arts and Crafts We encourage artistic and self expression through our sessions, whether that being a group art project designing a mural or creating individual creations
Aim 3
Quizzes and board Games We often chill out by playing bingo, play board games, jigsaws and fun quizzes that have a learning element to them.
Aim 2
Sports and Games Taking part in sports and games encourages health and fitness as well as social interaction, well - being and fun
Aim 4
Cooking Sessions We encourage young people to take part in healthy eating sessions where they learn how to prepare the food and understand the nutritious value of the meal.
