A summary
Our BALPA activity days run in the school holidays for children from Reception all the way through to Year 6. The days typically run from 10am – 4pm and are held at Caedmon Complex in Thornbury (next to Tesco). The days feature performing arts including street dance and musical theatre plus craft activities, fun games and a healthy but fun lunch. Beginners and experienced performers welcome. We take a maximum of 30 children per day with many experienced tutors, helpers and young volunteers to ensure the children have a fun packed day!
About your mentor
The Inspire Arts Trust
Dream. Live. Create.
The Inspire Arts Trust is a charity with the aim of developing people (primarily young people) through music, dance and the creative arts; and inspiring them to realise their potential, be creative and live their dream. Inspire has a lot to offer including our performing arts academy BALPA (Bristol Academy of Live Performing Arts) which opens its doors to around 200 young people each week. We now run fitness classes, adult dance classes and classes for the older generation as well. Throughout the years we have worked with schools, young offenders institutes, specialist organisations, prisons and many other organisations both in South Gloucestershire and beyond.
Menus & Dietary Requirements
We have found that the children enjoy a lunch where they can choose what goes on their plate. We provide a healthy cold lunch where the children can choose their bread (or other alternatives), meats, cheeses, salad and fruit. There are also snacks and drinks provided throughout the day. Please ensure you have let us know any dietary requirements when booking.
Learning aims
Aim 1
We want the children to have increased confidence.
Aim 2
To help the children make new friends and feel comfortable with children of different ages.
Aim 3
To learn about being health and active and how fun it is!
Finding Us
We are on the Bristol Road fist turning on the left if coming from Thornbury town and we are the complex at the back. We do have a gate from Tesco car park too which will be open. There is parking on site and a bus stop nearby if needed.
