What we'll do
We will deliver our Winter 2024 HAF Senior Boys programme for young people from the age of 12 to 18yrs old on the following dates and times; Monday 23rd, Tuesday 24th December, Monday 30th December and Tuesday 31st December 2024 from 4pm to 8pm. This programme will consist of a daily trip. More information on each trip will be provided once your child is registered and a permission slip will have to be completed for each trip. Our programme will be delivered in line with the aims of the HAF programme, ensuring that children and young people receiving healthy and nutritious meals, are maintaining a healthy level of physical activity, are being happy, having fun and meeting new friends and developing a greater understanding of food, nutrition and other health related issues. As well as taking part in fun and engaging activities that support their development and well-being, feeling safe and secure and can get access to the right support services. All of these aims will be delivered through our exciting and interactive programme with a full variety of activities from sports and games, arts and crafts, healthy cooking, gardening, storytelling, movies and much more. Our programme will ensure that children are keeping physically active daily for at least 1 hr per day, as well as taking part in activities that stimulate and challenge their minds and artistic abilities and wellbeing. Our programe is delivered on a first come first serve basis daily giving us felxibility to support more people because not everyone wants to come every day and so in this way we ensure places don't go to waste. We will have 40 places available on each day and 5 paid for places for families who are not eligible but want the children to attend.

Some more info on our programme
A standard part of our weekly timetable is having one physical activity session per day for at least 60mins. This is delivered by an external provider for two days of the week and by our own staff the other two days. The external provider is someone who specialises in a particular sport or activity such as karate or circuit training. Our own staff deliver the games sessions. We ensure all meals served are healthy and nutritous and conform to school food standards with a choice of hot food, sandwiches and plenty of salads and fruits. When possible we will take children on local trips to the farm, museums, bowling etc. We also have one big family trip in the last week of our activity giving families the opportunity to visit places outside of Liverpool, our trip last year was to Llandudno, where families enjoyed swimming on the beach, fairground rides and boat rides. We might be going to Blackpool this year!
