A summary
This is your chance to work with fellow film-lovers to help write, direct, shoot and act in a film over the course of a week! You’ll start in our new film memorabilia exhibition, then you’ll take a look at some classic film scenes for inspiration. Working with industry professionals, you’ll contribute your ideas and talents to making your own creations! The week will end with a screening which friends and family can join for. Whether you’ve made films before or never had the chance, we’d love you to join us. ***This activity has been funded through the Department for Education’s (DfE) Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme and coordinated by East Sussex County Council. Fully funded places are available for young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals. This eligibility criteria has been defined by the DfE. Additionally young people in several other target cohorts can attend funded places, such as those with SEND or Looked After Children (LAC). Please note, eligibility will be confirmed as part of the booking process.***
About your mentors
The Bright Foundation
Inspiring young minds through the arts
The Bright Foundation is an arts education charity founded by Academy Award winning costume designer John Bright. They offer a programme of life enhancing creative learning to children and young people, particularly those experiencing disadvantage. The programme includes school visits, summer schools, performance projects, cross-curricular learning, wellbeing retreats, volunteering, family festivals, skills training, and career support. The Benbow Arts Space in St Leonards-on-Sea offers a programme to support young people between the ages of 11-21 to pursue their training and career ambitions, inspired by John Bright’s Early Cinema Exhibition. Young people can discover their passion for filmmaking, develop skills and begin their journey into the film industry.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
