About your mentor
Green Space Forest School
Green Space Forest School
I have 20 years experience working in local secondary schools- and for over 16 of those I was a teacher of art and design. Over the last 4 years I’ve worked in Forest Schools, firstly on a freelance basis in holiday clubs for children aged 5-11 and in 2021 I developed a Forest School intervention programme for secondary school students with SEND, including those with Autism, ADHD and SEMH, together with a wellbeing programme for students who would benefit from learning outside in a woodland environment. I started Green Space Forest School at the end of 2022, providing a forest school experience for adults, with an emphasis on wellbeing and nature connection- and through this I’ve been running monthly woodland wellbeing sessions at the Prince of Wales Park in Bingley. In September 2023 I became a licenced Woodcraft for Wellbeing Practitioner, having completed the Certificate in Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing for Outdoor Leaders, with The Therapeutic Forest CIC. I have also completed training for the Hill and Moorland Leader award to allow me to lead guided wellbeing walks at various locations in Yorkshire.
