About your mentors
MAKING MEMORIES THAT LAST A LIFETIME Welcome to APF Activity Camps, where your child's safety and happiness are our top priorities! Our holiday camps and after-school clubs are for children aged 4–14 and are designed to ensure your child will have a memorable experience. At APF Activity Camps, your child will make friends, try new activities, and have a blast! From sports, arts and crafts, archery, electric go-karts, sumo suits, and giant inflatables, you can rest assured that your child will never be bored!
.Simon has always worked in childcare and education, with a raft of experience in schools, youth groups, nurseries and holiday camps, both in the UK and USA. Alongside this, he has a passion for Specific Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and sport/PE in equal measures! He has a degree in Sociology, a masters degree in Sports management and is a qualified primary school teacher with specialisms in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and SEND. Simon has worked with children from babies to 19-25 and from staff from all walks of life, having grown up in London, he started working at holiday camps from age 13! He has led large teams of staff and enjoys helping both children and adults reach and exceed their goals - whatever the stage of development - and takes great pride in seeing progress and enjoyment from all. He has always believed in the social and emotional aspects of childhood and early childhood as well as the health and wellbeing aspect of holiday camps and daily activities and this is why he is so proud to be part of APF and help as many people as he can, for as long as he can.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Aim 1 Experience success and become more confident – APF clubs help children build self-confidence by removing the kind of academic, athletic and social competition that shapes their lives at school. We teach kids that they can.
Aim 3
• Develop friendships – Our wrap-around club is the place where children make their very best friends. Free from the social expectations pressuring them at school, we encourage children to relax and make friends easily. All the fun draws everyone together— singing, laughing, talking, playing, doing almost everything together.
Aim 2
Spend the sessions being physically active – As children spend so much time these days inside and mostly sitting down, camp provides a wonderful opportunity to move. Running…..jumping…….climbing all help you to be more healthy.
Aim 4
Develop life-long skills – at APF, we provide the right instruction, equipment and facilities for children to enhance their sports abilities, their artistic talents, and their adventure skills. The variety of activities offered at camp makes it easy for children to discover and develop what they like to do.
