***Please contact me if you're interested in this course - I have some flexibility on dates at present.*** ***Also if you're interested in 1-to-1, small group or adult courses, please check out*** This is a 5-day or 6-day introduction to photography for 12-17 year olds, with an emphasis on having fun while learning the basics of photography and finding an outlet for creative expression. It will suit beginners as well as those with some experience of using a camera. Over the 5 or 6 days (2.5 hours each day), we will learn about landscape & nature photography, portraiture, street photography & reportage ... along with the basics of how to handle a camera, camera settings, exposure & composition. Each lesson comprises an inspiring slideshow where we look at and learn from the work of some of the great photographers (and that of our students!) followed by a practical photo assignment, mostly outdoors. -- x -- Some feedback from my recent course -...

My website - At the end of a fun-filled gap year following my economics degree, I had to make a choice - a Masters degree or travel photography. Despite it being a total leap of faith the choice was easy. For around 20 years I travelled the world, published 6 books on India, worked for the likes of the BBC, Geo, The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, Condé Nast Traveler and Time; embarked on a long term project documenting pilgrimages around the world; and won several awards along the way including Travel Photographer of the Year. In between I did a postgraduate diploma in photojournalism at the London College of Printing (now the UAL). Then my kids arrived and suddenly I didn't want to travel so much. I was commissioned to run a couple of well received travel photography workshops in Marrakech and in the process discovered that I also love teaching! So here I am in the midst of the Corona crisis, looking to share my passion for photography with interested young people and adults. I hope you'll join me on the journey.
