A summary
This is our 4th year of running a sports based program with enrichment activities for children aged 6-11. The main physical activities are tennis, cricket, hockey, football and squash. Also, some team based enrichment games such as dodgeball and rounders are included as well as orienteering. We also have a bouncy castle to be used when the weather permits. Educational cooking activities also included. Healthy and nutritional food will be prepared and provided for lunch each day, along with snacks.

City of Peterborough Sports Club is the largest multi sports club in the area and is home to five of the premier sports clubs in the city, offering Bowls, Cricket, Hockey, Tennis and Squash/Racketball based at the Dalrod Sports Ground, Bretton Gate. We are a family friendly club that anyone can join. We offer some of the finest facilities in the East of England and host a number of top sporting competitions and matches. We are a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC)

HAF Lead Day to Day
Chris Sanderson has led delivery of our HAF programme since 2021. Chris is a highly experienced and qualified coach (including DBS) in many sports and has coached for many years in sports clubs and schools around Peterborough. The additional coaches we use have also worked on HAF delivery since 2021 and also are qualified sports coaches and teachers and very experienced of working with children.
Nutritious Meals
As a sports based activity programme it is important to align with healthy eating.Our food options therefore include : • Jacket potatoes and 2 filling options (tuna, beans, cheese) and yoghurts and fruit • Chicken and pasta bake and salad with yoghurts and fruit • Chicken and rice and yoghurts and fruit • Beef and vegetarian lasagne with salad or vegetables • Make your own pizza (with oven cooked healthier chips and salad) and yoghurts and fruit We have an on-site kitchen to prepare and cook hot foods. We will provide healthy snacks at break times such as fruit, yogurts, cheese, nuts and others. We have secured, again for 2025, the services of the Head Chef from a Primary School in Peterborough who has invaluable experience in providing compliant healthy meals for children.

As a sports based programme, by its very nature, it is supporting healthy lifestyles, physical and mental well-being, positive interaction with good nutritious snacks and lunch every day.
