Marine Bernier-Harrington
Co-Founder & Director
Hello, my name is Marine and I am a founder member of The Neurodiversity Family Hub. I am dyslexic and have neurodiverse children. My journey in the realm of neurodiversity began 15 years ago when one of my children, just 2 years old at the time, exhibited distinctive traits that set them apart from neurotypical individuals. Through a relentless seven-year battle within the educational and medical systems, my child received a comprehensive diagnosis, encompassing Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, and a severe language disorder. Fuelled by my experience, I embarked on an educational quest, immersing myself in the intricate worlds of Autism and Neurodiversity. My initial educational background includes a Master's Degree in Direct Marketing, and I worked in that field for years until I transitioned to the charity sector. My journey within the field of neurodiversity inspired me to expand my skill set by becoming a certified Transformational Life Coach, specializing in the Person-Centered (Rogerian) approach to accompany Parents of Neurodiverse Children and their children. And I am passionate about making sure Young Neurodiverse people and their families live happy lives in a caring community

Anxiety, meltdown?
What's really special about our group is that it's designed for neurodiverse families, so there's no need to worry about behaviors being misunderstood. We've been there, and we get it! - If your children finds the session overwhelming and needs to leave suddenly, that's perfectly fine, we understand! - If your children prefer to sit quietly and not talk to anyone, that's absolutely okay, we understand! - If your children decide at the last minute they can't face it, but you still want to come and chat with someone who gets it, that's great too, we understand! Remember, this group is run by people with neurodiverse children so we're all navigating the same journey. There's no judgment here, only support and understanding. The cost of your ticket go towards the activities we organise. Every little bit helps us plan even better activities for the next session. If you cant afford and still want to come, just come and let us know. Just a quick reminder: you'll need to stay on site and keep an eye on your children throughout the session.
Learning aims
Aim 1
To find a community to bond with, a community that does not judge and accepts your family as they are (a family starts for us as soon as there is one carer and a child).
Aim 2
To find a space to interact easily with your children on a Sunday. A space to spend a nice time together.
Aim 3
For neurotypical siblings to have a positive experience with Neurodiversity.
