About your mentor
Capoeira for All CIC
Changing Lives Through Movement
Capoeira for All is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company established to explore and develop how the arts, in particular Capoeira, can significantly enrich people’s lives. It is a local, Merseyside-based organisation ran by highly qualified staff with extensive experience in the arts, education and over 15 years of Capoeira practice. Capoeira for All uses the practice, values and ethos of Capoeira for positive social change. We are an innovative and enterprising organisation and pride ourselves on the high quality and positive impact of our work.
Our pedagogy
We use the principles of Capoeira rooted in play, developing self-confidence, creativity, cultural understanding, musicality and cooperation as the basis for everything that we deliver to the young people. Our practice is one that centres the child's experience and creates an environment where they can flourish and be nurtured for who they are. Capoeira as an artform provides practical elements on movement, music, song, culture and language. The timetable we design and deliver daily includes movement workshops, music and song workshops, creative play and collaborative tasks as well as free play with the practitioners available to guide or facilitate when needed. Children from all over Liverpool come together every day for great experiences, learning opportunities and lots of fun!
