I'm delighted to be taking part in the Eequ Easter Learning Festival. I will show the children two or three different types of silhouettes and demonstrate the amazing effects that can be achieved with lights. We will use torches and projectors to get an idea of the possibilities for the final mini-performance. We will cut pictures and profiles of animals and people and will use oil to make the puppets translucent. We will also be able to explore how everyday objects and natural artefacts come alive and tell a story as they become a shadow. Together we will create a collective story and prepare a mini-performance to delight the people who come to collect us. Please allow an additional 15 minutes after the session time ends to watch the performance. Parents are welcome to stay and help or observe.
About your Mentor
About your Mentor
I was studying my A-Levels in Art School when we received a visit from an inspiring theatre company. I loved their performances and I was invited to do an internship with them. I worked for this company for 20 years, supporting teachers with their curriculum as a drama and theatre expert. I have facilitated many workshops in schools for students and also helped teachers to create vibrant drama curriculums for their classes. I have travelled and toured extensively in Europe and Asia, performing in international theatre festivals. I am now part of the Waldorf Teacher Training Programme at Michael Hall School, studying to be a Class Teacher.
