Impactful Performance

I've always loved bringing stories to life - real ones, imagined ones, mine and other peoples. I was a shy, weird kid who mostly liked building dens and climbing trees - I wrote and imagined stories and scenarios but they stayed in my head. In my twenties I started training as a performer and learned the skills of how to step into a higher self in order to convey a message. When I was eight years old my nasty teacher, Mr Meaney, instructed me to 'stand on a chair and tell a story' to the class- no preparation, no warning -... Shaking and terrified, I stood up, and began to address my peers.....''Once Upon A Time'....then a strange thing happened. I started to enjoy myself, seeing the delight and intrigue on classmates faces. After the story ended, Mr Meaney told me to sit down, be quiet and remember I was no better than anyone else. That early shaming taught me the huge power of direct, shared speech; and fuelled my lifelong commitment to the live arts; to 'being heard' - as an Impactful Performance mentor I share years of experience in bringing a message to life. MC/Director of performance; Musical Director with Perform Media Ltd - childrens' drama company -; various Fundraising gigs and talent shows Actor - graduate of Oxford School of Drama followed by various neurotic 'tortured matriarch' roles at The Gate Theatre, Hope & Anchor, Leicester Square Theatre Stand Up Comedy - tutored by funny and very nice man Logan Murray Quizmaster - regular quizmaster at Brouge pub, Twickenham & other London pubs. This was big fun and I learned ALOT of geography.
