A SUMMARY
Join me in my apothecary workshop in Forest Row to learn about the wonders of herbal plants and their properties. The world of herbs offer us a route to wellbeing that is accessible to everyone. A simple walk or modest garden can provide a treasure chest for supporting natural health and wellbeing. During these small group workshops we will explore the environment and see what is growing in the area depending on the season and the weather conditions. I will work with the children to heighten their powers of observation and we will collect nature's offerings and bring them back to the Apothecary to learn about their properties. We will look at how to preserve and store these plants and what we can do with them. Each session will be slightly different depending on the season. However, we will likely be engaged in making herbal infused oils, lip balms, teas and syrups. Not to mention other exciting projects that might present themselves. Each child will receive a large project book where they can keep samples, draw pictures and keep a record of what they have learned.

When your mentor provides a strapline it will go here
My interest in herbs began in Madagascar, where there are plants that are found nowhere else in the world. When I was there, I saw how important the use of herbs were to many people's lives and became intrigued as to how their methods would compare to ours. This led to my academic study of plants and I very much hope to return to Madagascar one day. I am now a qualified medical herbalist, I trained for six and a half years. I have a BSc honours degree in Herbal Medicine. I have been practising for over ten years, seeing clients and making products which I sell locally.
