Catching the Spirit: Shaping the Fleeting Moment by exploring accident & intention In these four days we will begin to open up and explore abstract space, structure and colour. Through drawing and painting we will explore relationships and wholeness within the artwork, focusing on composition and placement. We will use the immediacy and vibrancy of acrylics to develop these dynamics in our exciting colour conversations.

I am a practicing abstract artist and teach painting and drawing from my studio. I also lecture on art history. I am known as an inspiring teacher, and have helped many people connect more deeply with their creativity.

Learning aims

To learn how to paint with acrylic paints, using a variety of painting tools.

Strengths to develop

Through drawing and painting you will explore abstract space, structure and colour. In particular the focus will be on abstract composition and placement. We will explore the accident and the unexpected in the painting process, finding ways to work with these in the creation of the artwork.
