A summary
These sessions are aimed at teens without SEN, who have no prior fishing experience. If you have prior experience, please contact us (message / social media /email) and we can advise regarding suitable sessions. We will be in a small group setting (no more than 4 teens) where they will receive support and guidance to float fish on our Willow Pool lake; a lake that contains a number of small and large fish, so anything is possible! PLEASE NOTE: All attendees legally require a rod fishing license to attend. These are FREE. Please see "What you'll need" section below for details. We cannot guarantee attendees will catch a fish, unfortunately, but we will do our best to help make this happen. Unfortunately these sessions are not available for children with SEN; please search for 'The Social Farm HAF Club; SEN' to view available sessions.
About your mentor
The Social Farm
"Feel better through farming"
The Social Farm is located at Lakemore Farm Park in Haslington, between Sandbach and Crewe and our goal is to “help people feel better through farming”. We are home to many different farm animals including pigs, donkeys, cows, sheep, alpacas, and many more; all of them having their own unique personalities. We focus on education and healthcare by providing educational farming experiences for both children and adults, and activities and courses designed specifically to help people improve their physical and mental health. We combine clinical expertise with extensive farming experience allowing you to gain real farming experiences and share in the highs and lows which come with caring for animals, whilst learning new skills and improving your overall health and wellbeing.
What you'll need
Warm waterproof clothing; we will be entirely outdoors whatever the weather. Suncream (SPF) and a hat. All attendees will need a rod fishing license prior to attending one of our sessions, and will need to have it with them whilst fishing. This is a legal requirement. These can be obtained from https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence and are FREE for under 16 years. The license that is required is for 'trout and coarse up to 2-rod'. We can support applications if required; please contact us info@thesocialfarm.uk for support.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
