A summary
Join us at Bury St Edmunds Library for a variety of FREE creative workshops throughout the winter holidays for 10-16 year olds! Workshops are 9:45am - 3:30pm and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks. For more information on each workshop, please visit our website: www.suffolklibraries.co.uk/blank-page Workshop details: Library: Bury St Edmunds Library, Sergeants Walk, St Andrews Street North, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TZ Mon 30 Dec 2024 09:45 - 15:30 Festive Photos Workshop with Gillian Allard Join photographic artist Gillian Allard for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds! Take colourful festive photos then make digital edits before framing your creations. Our photography workshop will be in two parts. In part one, we will use the colour and sparkle of this festive time of year to make unusual ‘close-up’ photographs. We will digitally manipulate those photographs using Pixlr on the iPads to add more colour. In part two, we will use projectors to superimpose our festive photos onto ourselves and our friends and photograph these combinations, to make photo-portraits that really pop! Each person will frame their favourite image and to take home as wall art. If possible, please arrive in a light coloured t-shirt or top. The wellbeing of our young people is really important to us and time outdoors is a key part of that. With this in mind, where possible a short walk or time outdoors will be incorporated into the workshop days. This will be supervised by the staff running the workshops and will also be weather dependent. Please ensure your child has a coat and sensible footwear! If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people, our staff are not specifically SEND trained. This workshop is for 10-16 year olds only. If you feel your child requires additional support in the form of adult attendance in order to access this workshop, contact us by emailing katie.puls@suffolklibraries.co.uk. Fri 03 Jan 2025 09:45 - 15:30 Songwriting & Album Art Workshop with Ben Brown and Catalina Carvajal Join musician Ben Brown and visual artist Catalina Carvajal for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds! Explore your innate creativity to spontaneously create exciting and unique works or audio and visual art. Participants will go on a creative journey, writing and recording a song with Ben and creating the cover art with Catalina. In this workshop we will explore songwriting; rhythm, rhyming and harmony as well as visual arts. Together we will write a song by brainstorming ideas and using a variety of creative techniques and games. - Once created, we will then record the song in the space! We will also cocreate a piece of cover art to accompany the track. The completed tracks will be uploaded to Bandcamp as part of the Blank Page EP which will be downloadable for free (individual participants will not be named). Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
